Kyoshi Raven Cain
Kyoshi Raven is a 7th Degree Black Belt in American Ju-Jitsu and American Karate, 2 stripe Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is more notable as the founder of Karasu Ha Ju-Jitsu and the co/founder of KaJuKiBo. He has been training martial arts for 41 years, and he started his journey in Judo and Ju-Jitsu at the Chesapeake recreation center to protect himself against schoolyard bullies. The martial arts would become a life passion. Although he did compete in judo/jujitsu tournaments and even kickboxing smokers, Kyoshi Raven did not become a Pro fighter instead he used his training to help clean the streets of violence, gangs, and drugs in the world famous Guardian Angels. His exciting adventures can be found in the book 'The Journey'. Kyoshi Raven has a life's mission of helping his fellow man by mentoring those who are in need and those who are striving to reach their full potential.
He has also exclusively studied the art of Judo and Ju-Jitsu through his lifelong teacher 10th degree Grandmaster E.R. Spruiell. He has also trained in Shaolin Kempo under the direct tutelage of Sifu Bruce Corrigan and Kickboxing as the apprentice to O'Sensei Blackhawk Walters. He is a member of the National Karate and Ju-Jitsu Union where he continues to learn an grow in the traditional Japanese martial arts, under the direction of the board of directors of the NKJU. Kyoshi Raven also studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under longtime friend 2017 IBJJF Open Champion Professor Alan Merullo and is a member of the Jiu-Jitsu For Life Team.
Kyoshi Raven has helped thousands of people throughout the world with his motivating and life-changing methods. Kyoshi Raven was awarded 'Master of the Year' in the 2009 Black Belt Hall of Fame.
Kyoshi Raven's teaching methods have been considered out of the box and are one of the main reasons the academy stays full of eager to learn students. He focuses on self-defense as a way to reach a higher level of self-mastery. His teachings are never ego driven and the classes are always fun and uplifting while learning only the best in self-defense.
Kyoshi Raven was approached by The National Karate and Ju-Jitsu Union (NKJU) who encouraged him to form his own style of Ju-Jitsu after the NKJU examined his techniques. They determined that Kyoshi Raven's techniques were more than just a blending of styles but a new style all to itself. Kyoshi Raven honored by the board of directors at NKJU took their advice and formulated Karasu Ha Ju-Jitsu.
Kyoshi Raven is also a well-known musician who has been on major recording label. He has released 5 albums and has had songs on the top 10 music charts. He has been a touring musician and has opened up for world-famous acts such as Henery Rollins, LA Guns, Sevendust to name but a few. He also won the country music showdown in 2014. He has co-starred in a martial arts action movie called 'Half-Breed' and is set to do another movie in 2019. He is a published author of the book 'The Journey' and a guest contributor in 5 other books on martial arts and spirituality. He writes a monthly Collom in 'The Calling' magazine on Warrior Wisdom. Kyoshi Raven has been married for 16 years and has two children.
